Oman
Oman has approximately 5 billion barrels of total proven oil reserves and 25 Tcf of proven natural gas reserves as at 31 December 2014*. Its total oil production averaged approximately 943,000 boepd and its total gas production averaged 29 billion cubic metres*.
Oman’s reserves are found mainly in the northern and central onshore areas, comprised of disparate clusters of smaller fields.
In August 2006, Kuwait Energy signed a service contract with a 15% revenue interest for the Karim Small Fields cluster located in South Oman. On 28 April 2015, a new 25-year service contract for the Karim Small Fields was signed and effective from 1 June 2015.
