Yemen

Yemen has approximately 3 billion barrels of total proven oil reserves and 10 Tcf of proven natural gas reserves as at 31 December 2014*. Its total oil production averaged approximately 145,000 boepd and its total gas production averaged 9.6 billion cubic metres.

The majority of Yemen’s production comes from 6 main geographical areas: Jannah and Iyad in central Yemen, Marib and Jawf in the north and Shabwa and Masila in the south. Oil production has been dominated by three blocks: Masila (Block 14), East Shabwah (Block 10) and Marib-Jawf (Block 18) from two prolific basins: Say`un - Al Masila and Sab`atayn. Most of Yemen’s natural gas reserves are associated gas concentrated in the Marib-Jawf oil fields.

In Yemen, Kuwait Energy is the operator of Block 5 with 15% working interest and Block 49 with 64% revenue interest. Block 5 was acquired in January 2013 and is located in the Marib Sector of the Marib-Jawf-Shabwa Basin, while the exploration Block 49 is located in the Shabwa Basin.

Yemen accounts for 4 mmboe, or 0.5%, of our 2P working interest reserves as at 31 December 2015.
